Wow. Compression and leak down, plus closeups of the warts. Don't see many like that on ebay.

Its nice to see what appears to be an "above board" seller honestly selling a 911 on EBay. Of late, it seems like the EBay listing have been deteriating. A couple of trends that I've seen...
1) Fewer used engines are being sold. Those which are listed generally appear to be ads for rebuild shops rather then a real engine being sold. 2) A lot of the sales don't seem to go through because of "Reserve not met" when in fact the bidding has risen into reasonable territory for the item being listed. This especially applies to the cars. Ads like this suggest that people are just using Ebay as place to list an ad as opposed to a market place where items are exchanged (like the stock market). 3) Fewer listing. I hope that things pick up because it would be a shame if EBay's automotive section sank to being nothing more then a computerized classifieds. My $0.02

Speaking of deteriorating ads, have you looked at the Rennlist Classifieds lately? Since they went to the new format the "member" ads seem to be nothing but dealers with outrageously priced cars. The non-member ads can be OK (although now you have to look harder), but it isn't like it used to be

That kind of ad sort of takes the fun out of it. I like the dishonest ads better.

Curt? You mean that you also miss the tattooed lady?
Actually though, I find the warts and all approach refreshing. I've often wondered the WHY of the deceptive ads on enthusiast/collector cars. Many of the buyers are knowledgable. So why go to the trouble of cooking up an ad, going online, then have the buyer back out, because "car not as represented"? For what it's worth, this car is not listed with the early 911S registry...

"You mean that you also miss the tattooed lady?"
I SURE DO !! Since I can't get *real* porn through the firewall at work I relied heavily on CaliforniaClassix on eBay !! Tattooed strippers and hot cars. The guy was a genius. But then he went lame. Can't afford the cost of paying his...ahem...models? Now he just posts pictures of his own fat buttocks driving around the parking lot. Big yucko !!

Too big to fail

I never figured out the point of the Rennlist "Member's Only" stuff. People tried to splain it to me, but I be dense. "Pay money so you can list stuff on a different page" Hate to say it, but this took the Rennlist classifieds all the way to Suck Factor Nine.

No bids yet, either. How's that saying go? "Bad money drives out the good money." Sigh, Jim
