3rd brake light?

Can anyone recommend possible 3rd brake lights (where to buy, from other cars/models, etc.) to add to an '85 911?

I just bought the car, and already had someone almost rear-end me. (911 brakes are awesome!)

TIA!

Allen

I depends on if and what style tail you own, or if you want it inside.

If you like stock Carrera brakes, you'll love the Turbo version.

Yes, it has a tail, but I would prefer inside high mount (don't want to drill anything!)

Thanks!

Im 5'11 and could not see behind myself with the stock C2 High mounted 3rd brake light. I had to lean if I wanted to see what was fast approaching. I would think the targa mounting down low would be better if you can still see the light over the tail?
I ripped out the assembly the 2nd week of ownership ! The C2 has a different center reflector than yours and I was able to access the rear Fog Light provision and use them as 3rd brake lights. They are bright and you cant miss me..
I know its not stock, but a good alternative. While in there I also changed the tail light wiring around little. Now my turn signals light up amber with the red tail lights and flashes as blinkers when needed.
I personally like the look, and since the wiring harness is part of the lens assembly on the C2, it wasn't like it couldn't be undone.
I have since been informed that the lighted Ambers can get you pulled over? I hope not, since I like the ambers lights. Never had a problem in my 74 911 or the 914-6 set up the same.
I'll sell you my fact 3rd brake light. It was on the ebay item list, but yours if you want it.

Don

I've been trying to figure out a way to light up the entire rear reflector as an additional brake light, sort of along the lines as Don. Has anyone does this? I know the idea has been floating around but i've never got around to it.

Paul, there just is'nt enough room behind the center reflector to get any lights. I even looked into LEDs and they require more room than is available. You could drill big holes {2"} in the panel behind the reflector and mount sockets and bulbs but they would only shine through in small spots, not an overall glowing effect. Unless you want to add 7 lights
[one behind each letter} you won't get the effect your after.
