Did the mugglers box cover ever change

Hi,

My '73 car is missing the smugglers box cover (air-conditioning) and I was wondering, can I buy just any cover, or did they change through the years?

Fits all 911/912/930 (1965-89), so yes.

It depends on what a/c unit you have.

If it looks like this then yes any lid will fit.

If you have this one then no.

There's an early version that is flat - (on my 73), and a newer version with a hump/bubble stamped into it, to clear the later models a/c paraphernalia.
One part number will physically fit, and bolt in, all years, but may not be correct for the model.

then a LWB version
Then the version with the bump for the air conditioning evaporator fan

I have seen different bumps on LWB versions, AC, or not. Photos of your AC?

I was worried you were putting muggles in the smugglers box, that would be mean!

I've removed the old non working AC. It left a hole where it used to be. I'm planning on restoring the car more or less to factoren specs an as the AC was dealer installed (and incomplete), it wil not return.
