My 79 911 has a little bit of a problem. when you go over a rough road the gas door opens up. Is their a sping to pull the locking arm tight against the door or is their another solution. thank you

Oh, You have the ULTRA RARE Automatic Deploying Air Break. It was a rare factory option, but it could be installed by the dealer. It was the precursor to the automatic wing on the later cars...
![]() Sorry, really no clue. But good luck! Chuck

My gas cap also had almost no spring pressure to lock it....I had to close the cap and hold it with one hand and wiggle the cable to get it to lock.
I fixed mine with a new cable (generic choke cable cut short). When I installed it, I slipped a short coil spring in between the body and the lever (inside the gas cap area)...this gives the latch some extra help in keeping the door closed. Bob
