Finally fixed my problem

I want to thank all you guy's for your help.

I actually drove my car on Saturday all day without a problem. I can't believe it, after 4 months of starting problems the major cause was the fuel pump ! ( plus injectors and WUR and fuel head).

I have now replaced the entire fuel injection system (Brand new). It runs and sounds great.

I have i believe the same car you have with the same problems you have had. 74 911 2.7 CIS Sportomatic. I have been reading your posts and have been finding alot of very useful information. I plan on visiting a volvo dealer for the black plastic fuel lines soon. So far on the warm start up problem i have replaced the fuel pump/filter and the accumulator which hasnt helped. I plan on replacing the WUR next. Is the fuel head the fuel distributor? Did you have find leaking injectors on your car? Was the check valve in your fuel pump on your car?

Thanks
DDavis

Thanks for your reply DDavis.

In response to your questions yes the fuel head is the fuel distributor. Mine was leaking so I replaced it with a rebiult one. The only thing is you have to then have the CO fuel /air mix ajusted using a CO Meter . I took it to Porsche.

My injectors were not leaking.

I didn't have an external check valve initially (I think the pump had one as when I put it on the old pump nothing changed)

Keep me posted.

Congrats....I know the feeling. I spent over 9 months. I replaced all my fuel components up to the fuel dist. That I pulled and cleaned. I even tried to get it into one of the shops here twice, but was told they were weeks behind. So I kept going at it. It turned out to be a the vacuum advance on the dist. Thanks to this board.

I missed a whole summer of fun.

Oh well..I learned a lot.

Glad for you and have fun. It's the start of the warm seaon down there right?
