Porsche Crest Taillight housing question

Removed the left taillight housing (911 1985). Opened the back cover (without breaking the screws).
But what is it what's between the housing and the back cover? The stuff is partially sticky and partially hardened (deteriorated). Is it a seal? (part number please). Or some type of sealant?

Thanks,
Kees.

Its a putty, can be obtained at autobody part suppliers over here, no idea on part numbers, sorry. I have heard of some guys using window glazing putty but I would think it would harden pretty fast.

TSikaLastomer®-46 is the part number of the stuff I have in the garage. Comes in a roll like thick tape. I got it from an industrial supply shop (Acklands/Grainger maybe?)

Maybe start here....
