After two weeks of replacing this and that, I finally found my little bug! I included this reply on a couple of other posts so other will reap the benefit of this fix....

...I replaced the plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, and the DME relay. All failed to solve the problem. I was about to take it into the local wrench, but decided to have one last look-see.

I was looking for vacuum leaks, loose connections, etc. - and I stumbled across a four-pronged connector (it resembles the type of connector on the DME relay) that sits directly behind the drivers-side intake manifold. The connector is hidden. I had to use a mirror to see it. (Anyone know what this connector is?) As I picked up the wire to the connector, the bottom part of the connector fell away. Ah ha! I found my loose connection! I plugged the connectors back together and viola! My baby was back to its old self! No more hesitation or misses!

Thanks for all the posts and suggestions. I've seen quite a few other posts with the same problem I had. If you see one of these, pass along this bit of info. SmileWavy

The braid is not entirely w/o purpose; it will knock down the RF. Which can cause interference with radio gear.

Has anyone that has installed the magnicore wires in there 911SC had any problems with the radio interference that island911 mentioned? I need to install new wires in my 83SC and am considering all options right now (at least the options that Pelican offers);)

I also have a set of Magnecor's installed, 12 to be exact. I haven't had any RF interference issues with the KV85’s. In my case the fitment was excellent. I’m extremely pleased with the product and the company that makes them.
