79SC left rear - wiring question

I am rounding the corner on getting this car on the road, it has been a little bit of a fight.

When I removed the rear bumper to put the engine back in, I found these wires, broken. I thought that I would find that they would attach in the L - R light assy, but that does not seem to be the case. I have been searching around the L - R area for broken wires, but have come up short. On a side, I will not be removing the rear bumper again to drop/install the engine. The bumper was a real fight to get aligned correctly.

These wires seem to go somewhere a little ways from the light assembly, but where? Any ideas here?

Just a guess, but at they for the license plate lights? The braided insulation looks like the what I have on the lights for my license plate.

Those are for the EU fog light, huh? Makes sense....

I have already attached everything else license plate and rear light related, so there are not any missing lights there.

I guess that I will just terminate those wires, and tuck them up out of the way... thanks for the quick feed back guys!
