How to mult-word search
Anyone know a way to search a forum using 2 or more words - without getting hits on each of the individual words?
For example, can I search threads for just "intake valve" - without getting hits for every use of "intake" and also "valve"? I've checked the FAQ, and tried single quotes, and double quotes, but none seem to help. Some forums have a search option such as "use complete phrase", but not always. Thanks |
Simple, put ".........." at beginning and end of the word chain. Works both in Google and Pelican.

Use Google search! Simply copy the address of the page you are on ( i.e. PP tech forum),
then go to Google. In Google, type site: followed by pasting the copied page address, and then put your search words after the last forward slash in the address. (be sure and put a space after the slash) You'll be amazed! |

@Porwolf: As I noted, I didn't have any luck with the quoting...
@uwanna: Yep, that works! Thanks! Is that a standard Google search thing? Looking back thru some notes, someone else suggested the same thing on another forum a few years ago. I'd forgotten it. BTW: It seems to work to put the SEARCH TERMS before the 'site:...' |
i.e., It seems to work with the SEARCH TERMS before or after the rest of it.
Thanks! |
Add a + between the words, i.e.:
carrera+adjust+valve which would return posts including all three words in any order. Quote:
