What is the difference of fuchs center caps?
What is the difference between 3 prong, ring style etc. and how do you know which one fit what?
Thanks in advance, Dave |

IIRC, the difference lies in the diameter of the center hole of the rim they attach to. 3 prong caps fit earlier fuchs that have a smaller hole (don't know the measurement off-hand), and ring style, with and without the holes for the prying tool, have a larger diameter. In addition, the ring style are more "theft proof" in that once the cap is installed, the ring prevents the sides of the cap from compressing, effectively locking it to the rim from the back side.
I'm sure someone will post the year of fuchs that accommodate each style cap.

3 prong are early and the ring type fit later Fuchs. You can tell dates of manufacture on the inside of the wheel. I don't have my book but there is a date.....they also fit other wheels.
They are not interchangeable. I have two orphan 15x6s and one uses early and the other is a ring. I have them on a trailer.
