Will these wheels fit my SC?

Hey guys,

I'm trying to figure out if some wheels will fit my '82 911. I'm hoping to fill out the wheel well in the process. Here are the details:

- 18x8.5 et35 front
- 18x9.5 et40 rear

They are also 5x112 (Mercedes wheels) so I will need to run an adapter. I'm worried they would be too wide after the adapter to fit under the flares, but I know plenty of people run 930-style wheels.

I know it's kind of a silly situation just for some wheels, but any advice?

Okay, I finally found a good resource and answered half of my question. The diameter of the tire and wheel together stock will be almost exactly the same as the 18" with 40 sidewall tires. So that's cool. Now just about the actual spacing.

You're not gonna fit an 8.5" wheel up front, even an 8 in the correct offset will require some serious rolling of the front fenders. A 9.5" may fit in back if it is the perfect offset and your alignment is setup right too. And even then there's always slight differences in fender width on older 911's because they were handmade, so nothing is guaranteed when you're trying to squeeze in the max width. And speaking of squeezing in, an 18" wheel is too much wheel for older 911's, you'll be much better off sticking with 17's at most. And there's no way you'll fit adapters onto the hubs in addition to wheels this wide. Get wheels made for the correct lug pattern.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was afraid of. I'm actually seriously considering going with turbo flares or even 934 width flares now, but in that case the rear offsets would be all wrong so.... Nevermind.

The wheels is question are Mercedes Alphards, btw.

I can't imagine Alphards on a 911, that just seems wrong to me on so many levels. But that's just me...
