Upgrade to Oil Temp and Pressure Gauge

I have a 1969 body with non-numeric oil temp gauge. I bought a 1973 oil gauge with numeric oil temp and pressure. See photo

I believe the temp sensor is the same as on my 1969. Is this true? Connect up and reads correct.

The oil pressure sensor in a 1969 is for a light. Is this light pressure sensor different than for an oil meter sensor? If so what is the right sensor? Does it fit into the same socket as the existing light pressure sensor?

Thanks
Steve

The later cars ( mine is a 78 ) has the same sensor for the oil pressure light, but a completely different sensor and location for the measured oil pressure. ( i did not realize early cars do not have this. )

It is by the fan ( coming off a block fastened to the casing and an oil line comes from that ) and is cylindical in shape.

If you search oil pressure gauge sensor replacement i am sure you will find pics and see if you can adapt.

I have located both the oil pressure sensor and oil temp sensor on my 1970 engine. Taken both out to clean and verify function.

Questions are both sensors compatible with my 1973 gauge? No need to buy new sensors?

I have read in this forum that the 1973 temp sensor is the same as on my 1970 engine. Is this true? Connect up and reads correct.

The oil pressure sensor in a 1970 engine is for a light indicator. Is this 1970 oil pressure sensor different than for a 1973 oil pressure sensor? If it is NOT what is the right sensor part number?

Thanks,
Steve

Today I received my 1973 temp/pressure gauge. I put it in and the temp gauge works right on temp - verified with the meat temp meter sensor in oil tank.

Does the 1973 oil pressure gauge work with my 1970 oil pressure sensor?
