Knocking over that big a section of K rail is no mean feat. That is the biggest splash I've seen in a ralley video too.

There in an active discussion about this in OT. It's a race car, when you are racing things happen... fast.

Concensus is that the throttle stuck. Given a stuck throttle, what would you have done different?

Clutch in, hard braking but not locked, attempt the corner, hit the barrier broad side instead of head on.

Realistically, in 30'.....nothing.
Hands and feet off the wheel, braced & puckered.....
Didn't mean to duplicate, will post in OT in future..

Yeah, maybe...Fangio might have done that...99% of the rest would have done the same as that driver in that amount of reaction time.

This is a rally car and that means no laps, no pre runs at speed and no time to make corrections for a missed call. Having had a number of offs due to a co-drivers missed or wrong call, I can say that once committed, there is little you can do. I have been mid corner on a blind forest road in 4th gear flat out expecting a road to open and only to find it pinch down to a 2nd gear corner...all you can do is avoid the big trees.

nothing says taking responsibility like throwing your co-driver under the bus :)

What I found most disturbing was the guy checking his phone to see if he got it on film...get your a$$ into that water and get the driver and navigator out before they drown!

Do you get the impression that his late braking style needs some work?
