How can I tell if my 1968 911L is US or Euro spec
Hey all,
After months of searching and researching, I just picked up my first barn find; a '68 911L, and am starting the restoration process. In doing so, I was trying to determine if my 911L is US Spec or Euro Spec. I know that the VIN decoder for my 8-digit VIN essentially consists of the following: 1181XXXX Digits #1 and #2: 11 (meaning 911) Digit #3: 8 (meaning 1968 model year) Digit #4: 1 (meaning 911L coupe) As a note, here was my reference: Porsche VIN decoder - Stuttcars.com The reason I ask is that I received the following initial sales receipt and it's shown in Francs. Also, I received the following original sales documents which are noted to be in German: - Pflegepass (appropriate care booklet) - Kraftfahrzeugbrief (motor vehicle letter - which I understand is a sort of registration document) - Verwahrungsschein fur den Fahrzeughalter (Title transfer, I believe) Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers. |
