Dent/Bodywork advise needed.

I would rate my car's paint and body about an 8.5 and the reason its not a 9 or 9.5 is because of he two dents below. the PO had the hood painted and shocks replaced years before I putrchased it and the shop let the hood slip and dent into the panel between the windscreeen and lid.

I had a Dent wizard guy look at it and he said if he tried to fix from underneath he would crack the paint because it is s oclose to the crease and he panel would need to get painted.

anyone have this happen to them before and or any thoughts from the body/paint guys?

Hi...Actually due to being very small and isolated as it is makes it an easy repair.

Silver is a hard colour to match but if they keep the repair area 'tight' they should have no trouble blending to the original paint.

I am presuming that it is a base coat clear coat car. To save some money you could break the fenders so as to remove the piping( fender seal)

If you do not know of a good shop go to a MB. - Lexus -BMW, Porsche ect. dealer and find out who they send their work to. The street rod guys would no doubt also be able to put you on to a good shop.

I hope the info eases your mind a bit.
Take care

Thanks for the reply. The feedback I received was actually form the shop that does all the work for a local P-car dealership. I now figure I will have to have it done along with some other repairs when needed. I hate to paint a panel with original paint a this point but with a hood and rear deck lid already painted maybe its no big deal at this point.

Have you tried calling a place caled "The Dent Doctor" we have them here in Baltimore MD. He did some dent repair for me before and they can fix dents without painting. You might want to dry someone like that.. If they pain it will not match , try to avoid painting.

Dent

If they are the only dents on the car, I'd almost suggest leaving them. If the paint isn't cracked, the Dent Drs. may be able to attack it, but if the panel needs repainting, it may not match as well as you might like.

Sometimes a few small dents don't make the next one quite as painful!
