Windows and sunroof

I asked this question before and got some great answers. Here is a follow-up.

I can go out to my car anytime, without keys in the ignition and roll up/down the windows and open/close the sunroof. Does this mean that someone screwed with the wiring? My understanding was that the windows/sunroof would only stay active until I pulled the keys out of the ignition.

My 81 sunroof works w/ the key in position 1, and the windows only work with the key in position 2 (igintion on).
(the key in position 3, would be starter motor cranking)
I wish they would stay active until I pulled the keys out of the ignition.

After the ignition is turned on, you can turn the ignition off, remove the key and the windows and sunroof should work until you open a door.
If you can work the windows and sunroof all the time, I would look at the door switches first. They may be bad or the little rubber boot may not be letting the pin move out. Does your dome light work? If so, the door switch is not the problem.

From Islands post, it sounds like the windows don't work the same on the SC's. Yet another improvement on the Carreras over the SCs.

My dome lights only work when I turn them on manually.

GS,
Check your door switches. It sounds like the pin is stuck so the system thinks the doors are closed all the time. I removed the rubber boot from my car because the pin kept poking holes in new boots and sticking.
