Aem oil pressure guage wiring?

Good Morning Peeps,
At tail end of my 88 G50 track car conversion. I ripped out every single piece of stock wiring and went with an ISIS system. So i must rewire/re-guage also.

I have mounted Three AEM digital guages in the radio space (from Bisimoto Inc great Co!).

One is Oil pressure which i want to wire directly to the stock sender . There is a single wire which goes from the sendor to the stock guage. However, the there are three lead inputs to the guage ( if you cut off their connector which goes with their sender..not used) . Anyone know how this wiring occurs?

( the 12v and grd wiring to the guage itself is simple , and a sep. set of wires)

Is it true that the stock sender, which is grounded thru the chassis, will send out a 0-5 volt signal on the one lead wire ? if so, i am guessing that signal can be read by one of the inputs to the AEM guage.

also, Anyone know how to calibrate this guage? i see that you can calibrate the oil temp guage just using a food therm. in the oil tank.

There is surprisingly little documentation for these guages either in box or on website .

Thanks for any help ..

Cheers Frank ... rauscher@wistar.org

The sending unit on the engine is actually the ground for the guage.

Like Bruce said, the 12V power goes directly to the stock gage, and the ground is through a variable resistor in the sending unit with the engine ground. The gage Uses R/Bk to power the gage, Grn/R to the sending unit, and Brown for ground.
