Crazy Oil Pressue Gauge below 1500 RPM. Solution?
The oil pressure gauge on my SC fluctuates wildly between 0 and 5 when at idle up until 1500 RPMs...Where it then sticks at 5 while driving...
Bad gauge or pressure sensor? Something I could replace myself? Thanks! Dickson

its fairly easy if you dont have ac to replace the sender. it is the cylindical sensor to the right of the fan when facing the engine. a word of caution though, remove the sensor and block it is screwed into as one piece, then remove the sensor from the block in a vice and replace.

Could just be a loose wire at sender

Sender
Most likely the sender is bad. theiceman gives good advice for removing the old sender. Failing to do it this way can cause you to destroy the engine block!

Clean the contacts
Try cleaning the contacts with sandpaper or CocaCola - worked for me.

Thanks. The car does have AC, but I'll do my best.
