Torque Value for Gas Tank Strainer
I am looking to inspect/replace the 38 year old gas tank strainer on my 1975S.
Does anyone know the recommended value of the torque when replacing this part. THANKS

Okay here is the answer, according to the workshop manual;
0.8-0.9 mkp Mkp=meterkilopond 0.8 mkp = 5.786 foot pound 0.9 mkp = 6.509 foot pound

IF you are talking about this thingy, in my '87 it was 7 ft-lbs.
I do not recognize that unit of measure that you have either.

Yes that is the part. Mkp is a metric measure of torque.
The value once converted is 6.5 ft lbs. I'll go 7 ft lbs for good measure.
