Heater backdate questions?

Hey,
Want to backdate the heater system in the '84 Carrera. The questions:
After removing the blowers is complete will there be a need for any wire terminations.
The carpeting is from '84 and while not trashed it is faded and has the funk. Will the carpet kits from another year fit well(don't care about original weave, just fit)?
I was quite happy with the backdated system in the '75, I could broil hotdogs with the output at full lever pull, and since the '84 puts out a higher CFM, I am betting that it will be quite enough for Northern California.
Opine please!

I did exactly that in my '84 cabrio. I bought it without rear blower and a botched conversion in the rear. I cleaned up the rear part by doing a proper backdate, and removed the footwell blowers. I can indeed get unconfortably hot feet with the setup as it is - in an open cabrio - in october.
As for the electrical wiring, I did not delve into that. The plugs are disconnected for the moment. I also removed the command center between the seats, so that the heat works exactly as it does in a 74-75 911.

Be patient with distributor clearance

Distributor clearance will be a concern on the drivers side install. Many 3.2 owners actually had the Pelican ducts cut out. The OEM Turbo duct has a little more clearance from what I have read. Sometimes you can find a aftermarket duct already modified in the "For Sale" section. I had to hammer the duct on my Euro SC install to get the cap to fit and a 3.2 is a littler larger dizzy cap. I love the added engine bay clearance and better air cooling. Best of Luck. :)

Any ideas as far as the carpeting?
