Seat belt options
Purchased Vintage sport seats for my 69 coupe and need to address the seat belt issue since there are no base mounts for the receiver and latch. I would prefer 3 point belts utilizing the factory pillar mount. Any ideas, expertise or pictures appreciated?
Thanks Bob

There was a recent post on this. In 69 the belts were mounted to the seat brackets. Starting in (I think) '71 three point retractables were an option mounted to the chassis.
I had to add the mounts in my car to the rocker panel and the tunnel when I put retractable belts in my '71. The B pillar mount was already there.

Bob,
Jumping between the two sites, I'm getting confused, I'll respond on the Early S with a photo

Got the ones of my stock seat. They were anchored under the sliders. I thinks these will work.
I'll post pictures this evening.

Ok, interesting solution, I just put these in my car and they're frickin awesome
Planted seat brackets! They're solid as a rock, beautifully made, AND the early 911 model has seat belt tabs on BOTH sides of the seat! I didn't need them because I have a 73, but they're there if you do. Seriously these things are beautiful and are basically a platform that replaces the seat brackets, and the sliders mount right to them ![]() And yes, the stickers come off clean as a whistle so no logos or anything on them! I think they were $140 a piece... and made in the USA
Not too bad considering the quality and safety I'm sure they provide! A few owners back on my car replaced the stock seat brackets with flimsy bar stock, when "upgrading" the seats and interior, so flimsy in fact that when i got rear ended last month it actually broke one of the brackets on my seat and the back of my seat collapsed into the footwell of the back seat... Not a good problem. I went overboard and got these to replace them, to prevent any further issue with safety/stability, but they're awesome and look great, like a black satin powder coated panel that the seat sits on Last edited by IslandHopper; 10-02-2013 at 09:27 PM.. |
