Hi, I have a 1988 911 Targa. Can you adjust the passenger seat to go back further for more leg room? Wanted to ask prior to pulling the seat out and pulling my hair out. Can you help?

how tall are you? I´m 6´2" and have no problems. That said I have a momo steering wheel and not the original wheel which would get silghtly in the way of my legs.

I'm 6'5" and I sit a few notched forward from the back. Last time I had the seats out, I remember noticing that there was an extra set of threaded holes in the floor that I could use to mount the seat further back another inch or so.

I'm going to have the seats out of the 88 soon so I will be looking for those extra holes. There is less leg room on the passenger side for sure. I am 6' 1" and feel a bit cramped in the passenger seat as compared to the drivers side.

Yes - there is less leg room in the p/s than the d/s. If you rip out the carpet, the wood board on the p/s comes in further to leave intake space for the a/c system return.
But, just a note - why does it matter? I'm usually sitting on the roomier side in my car.

I let my GF drive home from the beach the other day (first time) and I noticed there seemed to be WAY less room in the passenger seat... That said, in my '89 there are a couple extra holes for moving the seat, and you could always make a bracket to offset it more.

Thank you for your help on this. Yes, my wife complains on no leg room on the passenger side. I let her drive home the other night after I had a few drinks and thought it seemed cramped. Will now remove seat and check it out.

Just recently had the seat out on my '86. On my car the seat was set in the forward set of mount holes and also I had the 3/4" risers installed. From memory you should be able to gain a couple of inches of leg room. -J

Job done - you were correct...extra hole to move seat back about 1 inch or 25mm. Did both seats. Simple job just cramped space. Thanks again for your advice.
