seat height/More headroom for 911sc

Hi,
find I don't have much headroom in my 911sc

I don't really want to do welding etc. to the seat base or floor of the car. I've been offered a pair of 3.2 Carrera electric sports seats, : )

Do the Sports/Turbo seats sit you lower down?

Do electric sports seats also sit lower - or do the motors take up some space and so raise the seat a bit?

Anyone else found a later model Porsche seat that gives more headroom?

I'm 6'2" so am a good bellweather for seat height and headroom issues. A friend of mine had a Carrera with the electric sport seats and sunroof in it. My head was jambed up into the ceiling of the car. With a helmet on for autocrossing, I literally had to drive with my head cocked at a 45 degree angle (didn't work too well). I believe (but could be wrong) that you will have less headroom due to all the additional motors/mechanisms in the electric seats. Make sure you can try the seats in your car before you purchase them.

I would think the more simple the seat, the more headroom. I have a 75 Carrera with the stock highback seats, and find I have plenty of headroom even with a helmet on. I would think the highback sportseats would have the same headroom.

Obviously, get more feedback and experiences from other people on the board as well.

I have a similar question: would power/heated 993 seats fit in a 1988 cab? If so, would I lose any headroom (I am 6'4"). Also, would the 993 back seats work as a replacement for my dried out and tattered rear seat?

As a follow up to this "does this seat fit" thread.. does anyone know what it takes to make a seat out of a Boxster fil in an older 911. or if it realistically can't be done. My seats are a little ratty, and I see take outs on EBAY for pretty cheap.
