Turbo flared front long hood fenders?

Hi -

Toying with the idea of doing a long hood conversion on my '80 SC. The car was modified in the past with steal front and rear turbo fenders. I have looked around and see enough bumpers front and rear to do the 9 in. and 11 in. flares but i can't seem to find a front fender meant for a long hood with turbo flares (I have seen RSR flares but they're a different shape). Do they exist or will I need to have something made custom?

Thanks for the help!

-S

So back in the day, an early 911 with wide flares usually had custom hand formed flares. If you aren't trying to clone an RSR, I say stick with your turbo flares. I've seen some smooth out the edges to make them look more rounded, and it ends up looking really, really cool. You can keep your front fenders, have the turn signal boxes welded on and then have the flares extended to the turn signal boxes. A good body man can do this, and it would cost way less than the steel ST or RSR flares out there.

Will provides good advice. I'd go with what he suggests.

Here is a pic of mine after making the rear more RSR like. The front had not yet been done in this picture.

I want to keep the turbo style flares. I'm going after something similar to Jack's famous car. I

Does anyone make metal blinker box areas? I have seen them in fiberglass before.

Not sure if anyone makes a backdate metal signal housing that fits the 9" flare. However, I think metal signal housings are made for standard flared fenders. You'll just need to do some metal work to flare out the end to match your 930 fenders. Should be fairly easy for a good metal guy.

Does Restoration Design make repro signal housings now?

They have been saying they were going to start making them. They have them for the SWB cars.
