I am sorry. No code. I just remember reading about that car and noticed the name of the color. I also seem to remember that it was claimed to be one of the standard colors on that model, not a special request.

Its all from memory though, so better double check.

Find a graphic arts business or paint supplier and ask them to scan the photo to get a good sample of the color.

looks very similar to BMWs Laguna Seca Blue, but I don't think that color was released until the early 2000s.

It looks like Arrow Blue to me. Mexico blue is a little paler. I know he has a 993 Carrera 4S that is Mexico Blue, and it is the last air cooled Porsche ever made.

I saw the car when it came into Circle Porsche in Long Beach. Jerry bought it from Burt Ohlander and Burt told me it was Turquoise Blue.

It's definitely Turquoise Blue. We wrote the first story about this years ago (that most of the others took from). As mentioned above, Jerry purchased/ordered from Circle Porsche. To the best of our knowledge, while the color was a standard for that year, it is one of only two for that year, model and color (see the comments in our original story). Original story at flatsixes.com/cars/jerry-seinfelds-1997-porsche-911-turbo-s/

I just touched up a client's 2005 996 Turbo S. This was technically the last year Turkis Blau (Blue Turquoise) was an available "standard" color.

His car was listed as a "paint to previous color" car on order.

The internal Porsche code for the production Water Borne paint was 3AS. The code you would want to use to order the paint from a paint supplier is 3AR. This is the code for a solvent based paint used for repair. Porsche NA can supply a touch up stick via Germany. I had a local supplier mix me a pint of Nason single stage. The color was a dead match for stone chip touch up.

Off topic but why is Jerry selling this car? It's not like he needs to money.

This car has been "for sale" through various channels for a while. People sell cars for all kinds of reasons, they don't have to be hard-up for cash. Here's another one he let go.

This is great, I will say that the lighting used to take the picture can play with the correct shading.
The consensus is its Turquoise blue with a possible code of L3AS.
OK ill bite which paint company?

Sorry for the dumb questions i have rekindled an interest in owning a 911 again after selling a 911S 2.4 RHD 26 years ago.
Regards
Graeme
