Sonofa***** Broke my thermo time switch GRRRR!

Went to put the wires on the thermo time switch and it just fell apart. Are these things repairable? Of all the switches to break, I go and pick the one that costs 200 bucks. PHuuck! really? Does any one have a spare used one laying around that they want to sell?

Norm,

I have a few extra TTS that I used for experiment and testing. PM me if you still need one.

If your thinking of using epoxy to repair it, don't use JB weld, Steel bond or Cold weld. These epoxies contain metal filings and will render the TTS useless.

My plastic is pretty beat up - the parts that remain - yet works fine. Never thought of repairing but nice to know you can.

The thermal time switches are expensive. An alternative I implemented was to eliminate it by putting a switch on the tunnel access panel inside the car that activates the cold start switch. When engine is cold switch is in forward. When hot I put it in the off position.

Works perfectly....probably better then the Thermal Time Switch.

Somewhat of an anti theft device as well. Car will flood and never start if switch is on and engine is warm.

When starter is engaged and switch is on gas is squirted directly into the intake.

there was a very recent thread about this where someone had taken a 924 TTS and bolted it to a stud on the exhaust. Same efect. i thought it was quite ingeious.
I wonder if it was because of the expense of the 911 tts

FWIW ('zactly what you paid) when I was confronted with a similar issue on an '87 Audi 4000q I just wired the cold-start injector to an intermittant switch. Press it down while cranking... vroom!
