How to repair studs on tail light housing

Edit: Tried to test fit these and came to the shocking realization that these are for the front turn signals and running lights, not the tail light housings.

Quick and easy fix to save the front turn signal and running light housings when the studs rust out or break.

The problem, broken stud:

Step one:

Use a Dremel to grind away the plastic on the inside of the housing that covers the head of the stud.

Step two:

Tap the remains of the stud out. I had to repair a couple studs and one came out easily the other, not so much. Hint: Grinding on the end of the broken stud creates enough heat to soften the plastic around the stud and ease removal.

Step three:
Drop in a zinc plated M5-.8 x 20mm bolt. (you may have to clean up the area a bit to get the bolt to seat.)

Step four:
Top with JB Weld

Done!

I suppose I would fill it with JB Weld and after it cures, shape and drill a new hole.
