Bargain on Fuchs...too good?
Local guy (no shipping-no tax) got no bids on this set of 4 16" Fuchs WITH OK looking tires and nice center caps. At $500, should I snap them up?

If they are genuine Fuchs, the price doesn't sound bad...ask to see a pic of the backside, look for the little triangle "fox head" on the inside of one of the spokes...

What are the rim widths? A set of 7" and 8" rims at that price would be a good deal. A great deal if in good shape with good tires.

Those look like the ubiquitous 16 x 6 and 7.
At $500, certainly not a bad price, but not "too good to be true." The price is in the ballpark, maybe $100 less than market if the tires are in good shape (they look to be cheap tires in average condition - which the market values mostly as rim protectors - maybe adds $50). |

Go for it if they are genuine. I'd like those center caps for mine!!

Since they're 'local', go check 'em out. That's what i did for my Fuchs ebay bid. Make sure they're REAL (P part#, fox head, etc).
Find out WIDTH. I agree with JimT. 16x6,7's are dime-a-dozen, and $500 is not bad but not great. These are not 8's. If they were, someone would've bid high ($1000). See this ebay aution: MIK '86 coupe with 7+8's |

Well, assuming they are 6x16s, Leland is looking for a set (with another $1300 with "17" Fuchs" written on it, burning a hole in his pocket).
Going rate in New Zealand is less than that - maybe US$400 a set (no tyres) - if you can find 'em.

They are 6 and 7x16. No question. Not rare, but if they are better than what you have.... why not! Go see them, and make him an offer. Wave cash under his nose. Cash talks!

They are the same as what I have now (16X6/7) but was thinking a spare set for AutoX and DE assuming I'm gonna get hooked (already hooked on AutoX). First DE tommorrow ! I've stalled the seller until after the weekend who claims to have a buyer in Calif.
Cheers & thanks as usual Ted in So Fla 86 Carrera Targa Blk/Blkl |

I bought a set of 6 and 7x16 Fuchs for $250 in similar condition - that seemed like a great deal to me. $500 with tires seems fair if the tires are still good, otherwise $350-400.
