Replacing early heater cables - which ones?
There are 2 listed in the catalogue, one is 1350mm (901-424-701-04-M74), the other is 1780mm (901-424-701-05-M100). That's a big difference! Which one do I need?

Sleeves are fine, as far as I know. The wire has broken on each end so it won't reach to the nut connection on the flapper box.

As a point of reference the 1965-68 early short wheel based cars use a 1750 length. The short one that I had ordered years ago came as 1270 and is not long enough to reach the valve lever on the side longitudinals from the lever just in front of the shift housing.
Is the wire diameter the same for both? if so I can give you a very good deal on the short one I've got. ![]() |

But if yours is 1270 and the one I need is 1350 then it's not going to be long enough. I might just try the home depot route.

After you pull it out take a measure and post it here - so if anyone searches these files in the future they will have good info as to what fits.
Thanks. |

You can do what I did for a quick fix. Crimp a length of steel fishing leader, (100# plus test) to the heater cable to lengthen the cable.
