LED Light conversion

The light bulbs out of the instrument panels are 2829 hella or Phillips bulbs.
Is there a manufacturer that makes this bulb in an LEB type?

I have seen discussions on modifying but not on suppliers.

This is what I put in, works great.

BA7s LED Bulb - 1 LED

Can't beat the price 1.49 per bulb.

sky...where did you get your lights and which ones are they...this is exactly what I want.

DohertyCM 10-25-2013 11:20 AM

Engelbert...do you have a photo of the dash after you installed these? I found those on the internet as well.

sky1jord 10-26-2013 12:29 AM

Doherty:

You get them just where rothaus told you:
BA7s LED Bulb - 1 LED | BA9s and BA7s LED Bulbs | LED Car Bulbs | Super Bright LEDs
You'll want the BA7S-W's if you want white.

Nice upgrade. How many do I need for the dash cluster? Thanks!

There's got to be a difference between Etarga's 10 pack kit for $80 and these for $1.49 or $14.99 for 10. I bought 10 blues about 2 years ago for $4.99 each and they are as dim as the original. Have you read the 30 page thread regarding Etarga and his LED's? He has been selling them for over 2 years and no complaints have been posted. Mine should be here this week. Etarga is currently out of stock of the tail lights or I would have bought them to - combo price is $160. There's something to be said for buying from a fellow Pelican!

Andy, I have the same question. I did buy the light set from ETarga for my SC and was very satisfied, so I'm interested to find out about the difference in a set for $15.

Thanks,

My dash looks basically the same as the picture above.

DohertyCM 10-27-2013 08:35 AM

Ordered...will post pictures after install.

I second that!

I paid for ETarga's LEDs and I couldn't be happier. I am always happy to support fellow enthusiasts that have high quality offerings. I also bought ETarga's LED rear lights and that's after I tried experimenting with a whole bunch of questionable stuff from Amazon...

Remember that the stink of poor quality remains long after the price savings!

Most modern day camera's will automatically adjust exposure time/apperture so pictures LIE!

It's pretty clear that the photo in the post immediately above yours isn't "lying". Look at the image on the other side of the windshield. It's properly - in fact, almost perfectly exposed. If the camera was say, using a form of spot-metering on the gauges in an effort to keep them from looking too bright, then one would expect the garage lighting to appear over-exposed. It does not. Now I suppose it's possible the poster has very dim garage lighting, but that doesn't seem likely. Look also at the steering wheel; the camera's exposure worked pretty hard, using its average-weighted metering system, to bring out the foreground. And yet still, even that didn't overexpose the gauges. Nice try, though.

Here are 2 picture I made.

The first is with the LED in the Speedo, and the rest still with the old bulbs.

Now with all LED.

It never looks real in the picture, but it made a real difference, and it's not to bright either in the dark. I would do it again.

Cheers

Why is the speedo so much better lit in the second picture??

79 Euro 10-28-2013 04:03 AM

Engelbert - Are those Etargas' LED's or did you source them elsewhere?

DohertyCM 11-01-2013 07:08 PM

my conversion

Did my conversion tonight with LED's I found online. The whites were 1.49 each.
The pictures are pretty close, and the white is nice vice the regular yellow hue lights.
