Great thread and info, Tim. Looks like you got rid of the PLX and potentially installed an LC-2? What did you end up with and/or what is the current best choice for a wideband sensor? Ideally I'd have something that will work with/output the 1v signal for the narrowband, that way I can reconnect my O2 sensor that is currently disconnected.

Yes, I ditched the PLX. I disconnected the narrowband output and then shortly after the warranty expired, so did the PLX.
I bought the LC-2 and I have temporarily installed it in my car and others just to make sure the idle AFR is set correctly. I never got around to a permanent install. Part of the reason is I can’t seem to decide what to do with the existing exhaust. I have original heat exchangers with a test pipe and a 1-in/2-out muffler. It’s a little loud at 85dBm but the exhaust note is the thing I get the most compliments on. It is fine around town but does get a little wearisome after 5-8 hours of driving on trips. Anyway, I’ve been putting off a permanent install until I make up my mind. Ideally, it would be nice to have an oscilloscope trace of the factory narrowband signal and compare that to the narrowband output of some of the modern wideband options. The K-Jet definitely did not like the PLX output signal. Other people have reported success but I don’t know any of the details. |
