Smoke coming out of ac vents 1987 911
I drove my 65K mi 911 Cab today and with my AC on, I had smoke coming out of the center vent. It definitely had an acrid, burning wire/rubber scent. I opened the front hood and all seemed ok. I opened the engine compartment, and it too smelled fine. I felt everything around the engine and nothing looked or felt funky.
Freaked me out. I have an extinguisher aboard but what or where the heck would I deploy it? Somehow dumping it down my center AC vent didn't sound like an effective effort. This happened a couple of years ago but it was temporary and it has not reoccurred until today. This time it was really rolling out. ![]() Last edited by jetway; 06-06-2015 at 12:44 PM.. |

Check the wiring under the smuggler's box and the front condensor motor
As Dr Gerry recommends, ad a fuse at the condensor if your year does not have one. I think 87 does.
