Wiggle test

.
(1978sc, 193K miles, History unknown)

I have just pulled the Pistons off

Case is still intact.

When I grab the small end of any rod sticking out the side off the case and wiggle it fore and aft, I can feel it, I can actually hear the oil suction as I go back and forth.

I've got a feeling that I shouldn't be feeling this much play

With the .008 top ring clearance from the rebuild section I'd say it's time to break out the micrometer/plastigauge.

I do not disbelieve in anything. I start from the premise that everything is true until proved false. Everything is possible.
