First engine drop
I was planning on doing the engine drop sometime this week, and on Sunday morning I decided to prep the patient. I just wanted to get it jacked up, wheels off, and get a sense of what needed to be disconnected and moved out of the way before I could drop it.
Made sense to at least get the axles unbolted, drain the oil. Might as well check to make sure the oil lines came off easy. Maybe take out the coupler while I'm at it... 3 hours later... ![]() after years of working on VW jettas and MBs, this job was a cinch! Next up, address a couple minor oil leaks and a broken exhaust stud, and rebuild the transmission!

Notfarnow Newbie tip:
To stop oil from dribbling out of the engine & lines, I cut the thumbs off my nitril mechanics gloves and slipped them over the fittings like a jimmy hat ![]()
