Cabriolet seals issues - HELP!

I am - trying - to renew the seals on my '84 Cabrio.

The new seal that ...seals the top of the window when the door is closed seems too long. When adjusted in front (where it touches the windshield frame), it hangs out in back by over 10mm:

The seals that are in the car seem to be 2 piece, with the frontmost triangular part that touches the windshield frame separate and glued (or at least were glued) to the top seal. One is missing already in the car.

2nd issue: the plugs that top the door seals. One is missing, one is torn, and the replacement is so made as to fit in a hole in the plastic moulding. However there is no hole to fit that part of the seal into:

Can anyone help, who has been there before, or who has an original manual top cabrio?

I had the same problem. I had to cut out most of that piece to allow proper seating to the windshield trim. My concern was it could contribute to wind noise and leak when driving in the rain. I've had no problem with either.
With the trim plug you are referring to, I cut the angle piece and glued it with the 3M adhesive. So far that has worked well.

Where did y'all buy your trim pieces from? Can you post part numbers?

I bought mine for our host. This will take you directly to the order page. Porsche 911 & Carrera Cabriolet Seals - Page 2

Thanks, I've been putting this off - $600 for four seals!

Anyone else had experience replacing these seals? I don't mind cutting them, but I'd rather be sure that it is the only way before taking a blade to 170$ Worth of rubber...

Update and new question:
I fitted the seal on the passenger side, cut it to correct length. not that big a deal once you're commited.
Now I can't seem to get a good bond between the seal and its frontmost part that I cut off to shorten the seal. That end needed also some corrective surgery since the shape is preventing any way of fitting it correctly.
I am using the Terosol adhesive recommended by the factory manuals, but the bond is so-so at best.

What is a *atrong* rubber adhesive I can use there??
