Spark plug gap for 73.5?
What is the correct spark plug gap for a 73.5 engine that is bone stock? The plugs below (NGK BP6ES) have about 1k miles on them and were gapped at .028". Rechecking the WSM, it appears that the recommended gap "back in the day" was between .55-.70mm (.022-.028"). What is considered best practice now? Am I still ok with .028"?

I think .024 is correct though I'm not near my books at the moment. I don't think .028 will give you any issues though.
Your plugs look to be burning correctly for CIS by the way. |
Thanks for the info Jeff. I was hoping someone would comment on the plugs :-)

I have .55mm (.022") listed for Platinum plugs and .70mm (.028") for non-platinum plugs
I'm sure .028" would be fine with those plugs |
Thanks jrbennett.
