Post Smoke on startup = how much oil?

Hey all,

I am aware that some 911's will smoke a bit on startup espescially if it has been sitting a while. What I am wondering is, how much oil are we talking about? I am guessing not much. Just curious. I don't drive my car now everyday as I don't have a safe place to park it at work where it won't get dinged scratched etc. It will smoke on startup maybe 3 out of 4 times after it has been sitting a few days. Seems to be using more oil than it has in the past so I am curious.
Car is an 88 with 65k miles.

Mark

According Bruce Anderson, I remember normal consumption is about 650 mile a quart for normal driving.

AFTER READING FURTHER WITH BRUCE ANDERSON HE'LL NORMALLY SAY THAT HIGH CONSUMPTION BY PORSCHE FACTORY MAY BE DUE TO HIGH RPM RUNNING ON AUTOBAHN.ALSO THAT SMOKE BURP ON START UP IS FAIRLY NORMAL AND WATCH YOUR CONSUMPTION IF GRATER THAT 1 QT/1000 MILES.
THIS TOPIC COVERED FAIRLY OFTEN HERE.ALSO DO NOT OVER FILL OIL AS IT CAN OVER FLOW INTO THE INTAKE SYSTEM!
