Bumper shock mounted tow hooks

Hi All,

I posted this in the 930 forum as well and wanted to extend my reach to the collective knowledge/experience here in planning my next small project in prepping for next year's DE season. I want to make sure I have proper tow hooks in place that can take tow loads that may not always be straight on. My front factory tie downs/hooks are covered with skid plates. I saw the following from Rennline and liked the idea of it being fairly inconspicuous as I enjoy the car for street purposes 90% of the time. I found a few threads on the topic, but nothing on the reliability of these specifically. Anyone have experience with these:

Rennline tow hooks

Yes.

I installed one on my 1986 911. Process was not too bad. Removing the bumper takes patience and drilling the hole takes some courage and lots of careful measuring. Works well.

I also purchased Rennline's GoPro mount for the tow hook. I use that much more than I use the tow hook for towing, and hope to keep it that way!

Rennline makes nice pieces so you know the quality will be very good. As has been mentioned, initial installation will take some patience. And of course you loose the impact absorption of the stock shock on the bumper too.

Thanks Matt & 175K911. I have a few Rennline goodies and the quality is top. A few responses from the 930 forum indicate stout construction but no actual field experience in use. I guess that's a good thing.
