How to make pressure regulator shims...
... with a tuna can and a hole puncher.

Ingenuous.
I wonder if it'd be worth finding some sort of stainless material.

You could probably also use stainless steel or brass shim stock relatively inexpensively. It comes in many different thicknesses. I am impressed by your innovation! Clever idea.

Yes, you probably can do it with other kinds of material, it's just that a can of tuna was lying there just opened, and I wondered if it would work...
The good thing is it worked, and helped solve some hesitancy issues caused by bad fueling. My system pressure was at the low end of the acceptable range (4.8), so I thought it was ok... but it wasn't. 5.0 is. So beware... |

Actually, with all of the iron and the fact that the shims are likely steel it shouldn't matter.
I think flatness is likely the bigger issue as the piston might wear on one side. Easy enough to hammer them flat, I suppose.
