I raced SCCA cars for years then got tired of the money it was costing. Went the next year to lay down enduro (not shifter) karts and loved it! More fun and the money was used in lots better places.

We got a group of Pelicanheads here in Phoenix for a cart night last month... lots of fun!

Kart Lap Times!!!

Took my 13YO son out to Summit Point kart races last weekend. Was STAGGERED by the lap times these guys are turning - 1:15 by a 250cc shifter cart, high teens by kids in clutch class enduro karts. This is $150K + GT3 cup car territory on this track!!!!!

Kart club guys were great - they talked to Chris for a while, then set him up with a loaner racing suit, gloves, helmet & collar and sat him in a kart for around ten laps of 'introductory' driving. He had a ball, and came back asking if we could maybe sell his motocross bike & go kart racing!! Sounds like the best fast fun at very reasonable cost.
