1980sc - Sunroof activation keeps blowing fuse
The other day my sunroof opened up fine as it normally does. When I tried to close it the fuse blew when i pressed the button. I went through 5 fuses attempting to close the sunroof before deciding to do it manually. Double checked it was the right rating fuse. Now the sunroof will not open, fuse automatically blows soon as I press the sunroof activation button.
Where should I begin troubleshooting this problem? ![]() |

2 things it could be...
first is a shorted wire.....Disconnect the motor and reactivate the switch, if it blows you know its not the motor. second is the motor.....a short on the wiring or the motor or its taking too much current to move. You can normally use a multimeter to see what the ohms reading are. Given the scenario you painted, I would put my money on a bad motor... However electrical problems are like computer problems, they are difficult to troubleshoot over the internet.
