Loking for rare examples of 911 cars to write about
I saw a 901, white, very clean, down at the Coronado vintage races, but the owner had a huge sign about the car's history but didn't identify himself. Is there any other 901 owners who found the car as a barn find --decrepit and non-loved--you would nominate?
Far more desirable performance-wise, I am thinking 911R. I remember meeting a guy around 1970 named Jeff Mannix around 1970 who had a 911R. I don't know how many were made but I got the idea it was for rallying with a lot of lightweight panels. It would lift the front end off the ground on hard acceleration. In the 911 world is there any good stories of a barn find in that model? |
