Anyone put fuchs on a 964? What mods are required? How do they look? Just curious.

The latest issue of 911 Porsche world has a 964 thats been backdated to look like a '73 RS with some kind of custom Fuch. The back wheels look OK, but the fronts are very flat and odd looking.

If you go with the wider turbo or RSR flares in the front you can get a 17" wheel with more of a dish that will look better.

In the latest issue of 911 & Porsche (I think that's what it is, the UK mag at Barnes & Noble) they showed a couple of backdated 964s with custom machined wheels. They looked very similar to Fuchs, if you want that look it's probably the only way to go.

I am putting Lindsay Racing wheels on the C4RSR Project car I am building. It is a 90 C4.
They are made from Fuch centers of a 6x16 wheel.
Mike cuts out the centers and welds them into a 17" rim.
They will be 9.5s x17 in front and 11sx 17 in the rear.

On the front I will have to install a 1/4 spacer so that the wheel will clear the caliper.
In the rear they will go on.

You could use 6s and 7s on the 964 or for the rear the 951 rear 8" wheels.

BUT the REAL rub here is you can't get Fuchs in a 17" wheel, and thats what you will need.
Cuz the 16"s don't have enough clearance and they will rub on the calipers. But just barely.

So the answer is.
No, real Fuchs won't work.
Yes, if you have some 17s made.
