Fits like Levis and Feels like a Spitfire

After a decade-long hiatus, I finally pulled the trigger and bought another mid-eighties targa. Flew to San Jose to pick up the car this morning and drove her back to Orange County CA. I took some side roads through Hollister and along Coalinga road (very narrow and choppy) and then blasted along the 5 freeway southbound. No stereo needed as the M&K 1:1 sounded amazing! I had the targa top off for the whole 7.5 hour ride and I was literally thinking of skipping my exit and continuing on to Mexico. Wind where my hair used to be, droning 6. Damn! The car fit me like a pair of perfectly broken in jeans, and felt like a Spitfire pilot. Can't wait for more adventures! Cheers.
D

Nice D, Real nice.

I like the retro look of the Targa bar. I have a 74 so I am partial. I saw where you posted this beauty in the "ultimate Targa" or "The perfect stance" thread.

Best of luck with her.

Love the color with brushed targa bar and RS finish wheels! Does the C 2/4 wing work? Looks like someone did some lightening work to it too. Very nice!

Welcome back!

Looks like somebody previously loved that car. Nice subtle personal touches. Very nice car, welcome aboard.

Thanks guys! I'd been looking for the right car for a LONG time. She definitely "spoke" to me. Right color (same on my Saab 9-3 Sportcombi Aero 6-speed, same on wife's VW Routan). The PO is a WAY coool guy, and we have very similar taste in accessories etc. The first items on the list are: dynamat / carpet (bare right now). rear seats and belts (nada right now). swap retractable spoiler for quack, quack tail. Then, at some point, maybe get rid of the accordian bumper look....
Again, thanks for the well-wishes. I couldn't be happier, and my kids (3) and wife are lovin' it too!

I was hoping that was in your plans but didn't want to say it. Can you take the Carrera off the glove box to?

No likey the custom "carrera glove box"??
Yes, it NEEDS to go. I'm guessing some kind of "goo" remover should clean up the stick.

Funny - I checked out the photos and my first reaction was that I liked everything about it, EXCEPT the Carrera logo on the glovebox.

Nice Targa widebody..You should of just kept on driving
I agree with the Carrera on the glove-box door..if its me I'd paint
the floorboards and pedals black, the eyes goes to these objects instead
of the beauty of the interior. I like it subtle
