ICV Question
Trying to "bulk up" an order to our host (filters, brake fluid, etc.) For my 87, thought I might include a new ICV on my parts shelf. Can anyone tell me whether there is a difference between these two parts ? 930-606-161-00-M114 and 0-280-140-501-INT Variously on other places I search, the less expensive one is listed as the replacement part for the more expensive one. Both are listed as Bosch parts, the first one (more expensive by 2x) is the part on the PET. The less expensive one seems not unreasonable to have on my shelf "just in case". There really isn't much to these things but if they start to fail or are intermittently bad, its difficult to diagnose.

Easy to clean...seems like a catch all part for any idle related problems. I wouldn't add this to my shelf...if you're reaching for free shipping, add wiper blades, interior lights, fuel additive, parts cleaner, fuel filter, air filter, oil filter, gasket rings... Odd stuff like that.

I hear you, I have what can best be described as a very intermittent issue so alternately, all I can really do as a hacker repair man is wait for more complete failure. My current ICV looks fine, checks out via all the available (home repair man style) diagnostics, even the 9V battery check. But, its is still a 27 year old electrical part. I have most of that other stuff on the shelf, laugh along with a voltage regulator, fuel filter, pump, plugs, etc.. (If I have one, I'll probably never need it, ie. "be prepared")

I recommend replacing it. I've done the cleaning thing, a couple of times, works for a little while.
Easy to replace,like you said...it is a 27 year old part. |

Yeah, I guess just replacing it would do the trick. I had a problem with the brake booster T line by the cruise control. Used some black gasket repair goop and some shrink wrap. That seemed to clear up some of my ICV issues.

Back to original ?? Any comments on those two part numbers. The Pet drawing on the expensive part actually shows the other part number alternately. Is it the same ? Big price diff for some reason.

Weird, looks like the same part, both made by Bosch. One says OEM. Buy the less expensive one (not cheaper).

abides.

They are the same part. You are paying an extra $140 for the Porsche part number.

Was kinda hoping that was all it is. I'll get my order together and move forward, thanks.
