a-arm help
My car was in an accident - front left corner from the previous owner. I've finally taken the suspension apart and found a broken collar on the a-arm's rear mount.
![]() Do vendor's sell just the collar? I don't see the collar for sale on Pelican. Also, the ball joint fits somewhat loosely in the hole. When I tighten it down, it doesn't wiggle but I was curious as to how much play there should be before tightening it down. Does the ball joint end of the a-arm look ok? ![]() Lastly, how difficult should it be to get the collars off (front and rear)? What is the correct procedure for this? Are there such things as upgraded a-arm bushings? Thanks. |

Pitch it and get a replacement. They're out there new, or used from Parts Heaven or EASY.
Elephant Racing for bushings, available here. Do Tie Rods and the whole shebang while you're at it. Copy and paste the link in my signature for how I did mine. -C

I found some used a-arms for sale. My arm has a U-shaped attachment for the sway bar, but not all do. What years had the attachment like the one in my picture?
Also, what is the procedure for swapping bushings in the a-arm? My collars definitely are stuck, do not twist easily (not at all by hand) and the collars do NOT want to come off. Thanks. |
