Hi, Im new here and just starting a '69 911 E Targa resto. I'm the second owner and the car is ALMOST original (after market A/C).
My question to all of you with godlike Porsche knowledge is this: I would like to duplicate the factory finish under the hood, in the cockpit, and in the engine compartment. Does anyone know of a source for these finishes....my local paint supply place (auto) just looked at me and scratched their arse(s). <--there were two guys. I'm sure that I will have more questions....but will try not to pester too much. Thanks in advance, Jeff.....Colorado |

I can't really help, but do remember a couple of discussions in the past about the correct finish in 72 and earlier cars for the engine bay.
IIRC it is satin black paint over body colour. If you are talking about the fact that it might have something under the body coloured paint (ie it isn't smooth). Then I definitely can't help. Try "search" too. Not sure what key words would be best.
