my best road trip ever? 1400 miles in a long weekend

I never really feel like a car is mine until I have done some work on it – maintenance and/or improvements. Also there must be a road trip to really make it seem like a keeper.

I bought my 911 as a driver in the spring and have been driving and working on it since. Last weekend though was the best experience yet.

My 10 year old daughter and I drove a total of 1400 miles covering 4 states and attended the Porsche Palooza in Eureka Springs Arkansas. The car performed flawlessly despite me bringing many tools and books and obsessing over fixing as much as possible before departure. This forum was critical to those repairs and improvements. Thank you for such an valuable resource. The event location and overall organization were outstanding.

The best part? My daughter is ready to book again for next year. I could not be happier on all accounts. These cars are great on trips and I highly recommend a fun road trip. It even achieved 25 to 26 mpg the whole time.

Cool!
I just got a new 78 sc and took it on a 12 hour round trip. Not having owned it long, I wasn't really familiar with it, but everyone on these forums encouraged me to take it anyway, and like yours, it performed flawlessly! I thought I'd be a basket case that far from home worrying about stuff but I was grinning the whole time. Still am.

You sure you want to pass on that drive this coming Sunday?

I agree on the road trip/keeper concept. Must take my son to Arkansas event some year. 840 miles one way for me. About as much as my yearly trip to Dallas.

I do not disbelieve in anything. I start from the premise that everything is true until proved false. Everything is possible.
