Pictures of the color Salmon Metallic?
This was a special order color in '74', does anyone have a picture of a p-car this color? It is sometimes described as Orange metallic. The color code is 036. Thanks.

My '74 911 was this color. It looked great with the chrome accents.
This is from the 40th Anniv. website. ![]()

Thanks for the offer to show the color, it is an unusual color isn't it. At that time of the first request I was looking at a '75 Carrera 2.7 in Italy that color. It was a very nice, low mile original car, but the seller wanted way too much for it at the time.

Coppertone is what some Americans would recall seeing first in 1956 on the new '57 Chevy's in a two-tone paint job with Pearl White accents! Chrysler revived the similar shade in 1963 for the 'Turbine Bronze' research cars ... and for several years [at least thru '75] used in on selected models, including '66 Hemi Chargers, '69 440 'Cuda's, '70 GTX's, and '70 Hemicudas, and finally, '75 Imperials!
The Salmon Metallic was a bit more orange, but the coppertone influence is clearly evident, though European metallic paints use a bit finer powder bronze for a more 'soft' appearance. The '75 Chrysler Avocado Gold and Turbine Bronze used finer bronze powder, as well, but were a single-stage alkyd enamel that was quite striking, even without the clearcoat!

My car is not a Carrera 1974, is a 1974, 911 Targa, with a new 2.7RS long block engine (this week). I have upgraded suspension to a SC and Big brakes in the front. Also upgraded transmission to a later 915 tranny.
My car is currently having the engine transplant done … the new 2.7RS long block engine (240hp) has an engine break in time of only 8 hours 45 min and every part is new. Every mod has been done; Mahle euro pistons and cylinders, S cams, balanced and blueprinted. Ect, ect. Here is a picture: ![]() |

Thanks Ricardo,
its definatly not Copper Brown Metallic Clearcoat cause I bought some touch up paint from paintscratch thinking that had to be the color. Thats a chocolate brown color. Then I started looking more closely at paintscratches colors for different years and they didn't seem to have their chips matched up with the right colors. I don't know it could have been my mistake somehow... but I have seen some new cars recently that are very close to the color on my car. I may find some touch up paint yet!...lol

My '77 Targa was the first '77 in the country (they said)- October 1976. I dont remember seeing paperwork with a color identified on it, but I thought I remembered the dealer calling it "Burgandy Metallic", or maybe that was just a DMV agent. Anyway, it looks more burgandy than salmon. The door jamb plate says 436-9-3, which I understand to be the color. Here's a picture.
