Repair rear seat backing
What is the recommended approach for repairing the rear seat backing when it starts detaching from the upper rear seat? I searched and most rear seat repairs are for the bottom part, or restuffing the seats.
Is this something that can be glued? Does the entire upper part of the rear seat need to be removed to repair? ![]() Thanks for any advice.

When it gets that bad, unbolt the rear seat backs and take them to an upholstery shop to replace that material. That's beyond the point where it can be saved by regluing it.

Isn't the carpet for the rear seat glued to the chassis? I thought it was a bit more involved than just simply unbolting.

There is a short piece that extends under the rear upholstered panel. I guess my point was that you can't repair what's in your picture in-situ. The hardest part is usually uncrewing the seat back screws. The rest of it becomes sort of obvious as you proceed. Make sure to use a suitable tool and align it corrently so you don't strip the screws. I use an impact driver, usually.
